Muslim Scientists
The fate of Muslim scientists at the hands of Muslims themselves is not communicated to the public. Today it is said with great pride that he was our Muslim scientist, even though knowledge has no religion.
Brief profiles of five of these scientists are here.
01- Yaqub Al-Kindi
He was an expert in philosophy, physics, mathematics, medicine, music, chemistry and astronomy. When a caliph who was opposed to Al-Kindi's idea came to power to please the Mulla, Al-Kindi's library was confiscated and he was publicly flogged at the age of sixty. Al-Kindi would scream in pain with each whip and the audience would laugh.
02- Ibn Rushd
Ibn Rushd, the famous Andalusian scholar who played a key role in the Renaissance of Europe, was declared impious and his books were burned. According to tradition, he was tied to a pillar of the Jamia Masjid and worshipers spat in his face. This great scholar lived the last days of his life in a state of humiliation and anonymity.
03- Ibn Sina
Ibn Sina, the founder of modern medicine, was also declared a heretic and apostate. He was persecuted by various Muslim rulers and spent his entire life in hiding. He wrote his book, which was taught in the universities of the East and the West for six hundred years, i.e. "Al-Qanun fi al-Tabb" in secret.
04- Zakaria Al-Razi
The great philosopher, alchemist, astronomer and physician Zakaria al-Razi was called a liar, an atheist and an infidel. Hakim Waqt ordered Razi's book to hit his head until either the book or Razi's head cracked. Razi thus became blind due to repeated blows to the head with books, and then was unable to see until his death.
05- Jabir Ibn Hayyan
Whom the people of the western world call the father of modern chemistry, who worked in chemistry, medicine, philosophy and astronomy. whose book alchemy and book seven are found only in the libraries of the West. "The Revenge of Jabir Ibn Hayyan by Hakim Waqt:" The growing fame of Jabir began to shake Jabir's rule, making it difficult for Jabir to remain in Khorasan. His mother was whipped and tortured. Jaber packed his books and limited lab equipment and left for Basra, Iraq. The people of Basra came under Jabir's cognizance. He had never heard alchemy and academic discourse like Jabur before. Jaber made them travel from earth to heaven and from earth to its layers. Even the ruler of Basra could not bear his glory.
Hakim's courtiers began to perceive Jabur's growing academic reputation and religious dissent as a threat to the government. One day Jabir was accused before the Qazi of Basra. And so Jabir bin Hayyan, whom the West calls the "Father of Chemistry" today, his alchemy, knowledge and scientific inventions were declared by his own religion to be sorcery, falsehood and infidelity.
