Britain's Queen Elizabeth has died at the age of 96,  consistent with  Buckingham Palace.

Her death brings to  an in depth  a reign that lasted seven decades and made her the most respected woman in the world.

As monarch, the Queen automatically  features a  publicly funded state funeral. The palace  is predicted  to release details of the funeral soon.

Her eldest son Charles immediately became King of the  uk  after his mother's death.

The  royalty  named Charles as King when Queen Elizabeth's death was announced. The tweet  mentioned  Camila as the Queen Consort.

As heir from the age of three, he was the longest-serving heir to the throne in British history.

When Charles becomes sovereign, he has  the choice  to adopt whatever name he chooses as king for his reign.  for instance , King George VI's real name was actually Albert.  the 2  previous monarchs were named Charles.

Charles has already taken on  a number of  the Queen's engagements this year as her health has become such a concern that she has canceled some of her engagements, including the State Opening of Parliament.

Both Charles and Prince William preferred the Queen's diary to their own. Both were activated as State Counsellors, where the Queen delegates her sovereign power for specific purposes, and were required to be even more available for these duties.
